We’re running a marketing programme for innovative tech startup Tradecraft Tools, which has developed the world’s first app enabling trade professionals to manage their whole business via the phone in their pocket.

We’re launching the product, called Timter, this week. It’s the only business tool developed specifically for the UK’s two million self-employed tradespeople – from electricians to plumbers, carpenters, builders and more – and the first of its kind to run entirely on a smartphone.

Streamlining trade professionals’ business processes, Timter enables them to earn more without working harder, boost their professional reputation and take full control over their business. It handles job quoting, project planning, time tracking, product ordering, stock management and invoicing.

Freeing up four hours or more a week for fee-earning work, it can help users add at least 20% to their income.

We began advising Tradecraft Tools in October, when its app was nearing the end of its three-year development. We started by delivering our Kick Start process – working with the company’s founders to refine the target market and product positioning and to develop a compelling set of brand messages and a focused marketing strategy.

Since then, we’ve been busy putting the marketing programme into action, with initial preparations spanning:

  • supporting the development of the Timter website with a clear structure and appealing design and copy
  • setting up Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube pages
  • creating product images and
  • helping to establish an optimised presence in the Apple and Google app stores

We’re supporting the release of the product this week with a media launch plus ad campaigns running via social media.
