Community engagement

And public consultation services

Need to consult stakeholders or community members on a new development or initiative?

We provide first-rate services to help you engage residents, business people, interest groups, politicians, council officers, statutory bodies and more.

We’ve supported many regeneration and property development initiatives from residential schemes to offices, business parks, leisure facilities and town centre redesigns. We’ve also handled highly sensitive issues including Gypsy & Traveller site and road proposals.

Our clients have included three Sussex councils, Apex Airspace (see here and here), MIA Property Group, National Grid and Sea Change Sussex.

We’re skilled in striking the right tone and talking a language consultees understand.

We’ve won several awards for community engagement and public consultation work.

Presenting a Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Gold Award for Best Public Sector Programme, the judges found one of our exercises  to be:

‘An outstanding example of the extensive involvement of local people in an urban development scheme. TK Associates showed confidence & creativity in finding out what local stakeholders really felt … and delivered support from an impressive 82% of the community.’

For an exercise to help establish a new countryside park, we won an Excellence in Local Government Award for Best UK Consultation. This recognised our

‘Thoroughness, transparency and effectiveness in engaging all parts of the community including hard-to-reach groups.’

We also won a Best Corporate Communications Award for our campaign to help National Grid engage communities across London and inspire young people about careers in science.

In addition to consultation and engagement exercises, we help organisations connect with communities by producing user-friendly, plain-English copy and materials. See, for example, our project to write Runnymede Borough Council’s 600-page website.
