The South East Local Enterprise Partnership (SELEP) has appointed TK Associates to help raise the profile of its £10 billion plan to deliver economic growth, jobs and homes throughout the region.
SELEP is the Government-backed public/private sector partnership responsible for leading growth and job creation across Essex, Kent and East Sussex. It is the largest of England’s 39 Local Enterprise Partnerships aside from London, representing nearly four million people and 130,000 businesses.
The organisation’s mission is to make its region the most enterprising in England.
Given this, it has developed a six-year, £10 billion ‘Strategic Economic Plan‘ to generate 200,000 new jobs, develop 100,000 homes, invest £128 million in skills and deliver the biggest local transport upgrade in the country.
SELEP has commissioned us to help increase understanding of and support for this ambitious regeneration plan amongst politicians, government officials, businesses, local authorities, universities and colleges.
We will provide SELEP with communications strategy and messaging advice, media relations – targeting public sector, regeneration, business, regional and local outlets – copywriting, public affairs and social media services.
We will put particular emphasis on promoting SELEP’s strategy to regenerate its coastal towns. These are home to over a quarter of the region’s population, but many suffer severe economic problems. SELEP’s strategy includes overhauling run-down coastal housing, boosting cultural and creative industries and exploiting the massive commercial opportunities in offshore wind energy.
