TK Associates has been appointed to run a public consultation to support a significant regeneration scheme for Bexhill-on-Sea, on England’s south coast.
The consultation seeks to inform and solicit views from residents, the business community, local councillors, council officers, community associations, stakeholders and interest groups.
The exercise will involve consultation meetings, two open days, media and stakeholder liaison, web-based information plus analysis of views collected via surveys and written submissions.
An important part of the task is clear explanation of the regeneration project, with an emphasis on economic benefits and job creation.
The proposals on which we are consulting include a ‘Gateway Road’ to provide access to a new business development site; a business park on the site which could accommodate 15,000m2 of premises; and details of a business centre for up to 70 companies.
These schemes are designed to help local firms expand and to attract successful companies to the area – creating a thriving business community and hundreds of jobs.
The proposals are from economic development company Sea Change, which plans to submit a planning application for the Gateway Road in the next month, with an application for the business park and first premises to follow this summer.
They are part of the company’s longer term plans to develop 50,000m2 of business premises in Bexhill in order to generate 3,000 jobs and add £1 billion to the local economy.
