We’re excited to have been commissioned by Brent Council and the Brent Business Board to drive a place marketing campaign to attract expanding businesses to the north-west London borough.

Our focus is on the three locations within the borough with the greatest economic growth potential: Wembley, Harlesden and Kilburn.

The marketing drive is part of a wider programme of economic development led by the Brent Business Board, which comprises leaders from major companies in the borough, Brent Council, the West London Business association, Westminster University and the College of North West London.

This economic development programme includes major regeneration schemes in the three locations, developing thousands of homes as well as commercial premises and recreational spaces. It also complements Brent’s win of ‘Borough of Culture 2020’ status, which provides a big opportunity to showcase its cultural heritage and attract creative businesses.

We’re kicking off our work with a series of workshops with business representatives, council officers and members. In these sessions, we’re profiling the target companies to attract and developing a compelling proposition for each area, focusing on its distinctive identity and commercial opportunities.

Based on this work, we’ll produce videos, create content for a new ‘Brent for Business’ website and run digital marketing campaigns targeting relevant businesses.

We’ll also address property companies by outlining the opportunities to take on vacant business premises within the borough and run them as high-quality business centres, offices, co-working spaces and studios.

Councillor Shama Tatler, Brent Council’s Lead Member for Regeneration, says: “Brent has wonderful opportunities for businesses — but we’re not always uppermost in the minds of entrepreneurs, retailers and directors of expanding companies looking for a new base. This campaign will start to change that by promoting what the borough can offer.

“Having run a competitive process to find the best agency to support us with this, TK Associates stood out as professional, knowledgeable and experienced. They understand exactly what we’re trying to achieve and proposed a focused, well-structured strategy. They also have a strong track record which assured us they can deliver what we need. We’re looking forward to working closely together to take our first steps in presenting Brent as a great place for business.”

The Brent campaign builds on our communications and marketing work with local authorities and in the fields of economic development and place marketing.
