TK Associates is managing communications and marketing for Sea Change Sussex, the new regeneration company.
Sea Change has been established to drive economic development across East Sussex. It is headed by leaders from several of the area’s prominent businesses, its local authorities, the voluntary sector and the University of Brighton.
The company has drawn up a bold, ten-year regeneration programme to develop 900,000 sq ft of business premises, expand the area’s economy by over £1 billion and generate 6,000 jobs.
Amongst our first tasks has been development of the organisation’s trading name, ‘Sea Change Sussex’, its visual brand and initial website.
We are also handling media relations, issue management plus inward investment and property marketing to help draw successful companies to the area. This follows recent success in attracting Saga to set up a new insurance operation in Hastings, generating 800 jobs.
Sea Change is particularly focused on creating thriving business communities in three locations:
- Hastings’ Priory Quarter business district
- a new ‘North Queensway Business Park’ in north-west St Leonards and
- two extensive development sites in north-east Bexhill
The company is funding its ambitious programme from a combination of private and public financing plus self-generated income. It has already secured £8.5 million from the Government’s Growing Places Fund.
