We have been awarded a new contract to run a business investment and property marketing programme for economic development company Sea Space.

Building on a seven-year business relationship with Sea Space, our brief is to support the company and its joint venture partners in their redevelopment of the Hastings area and wider East Sussex. This will centre on a marketing drive to attract companies and to promote the high-grade office and industrial premises Sea Space is developing, including a series of sustainable business parks.

In addition, we will help Sea Space to develop and articulate its future business strategy and to seek funding, in line with the new Government’s approach to economic development.

This brief involves communications strategy work, media relations, stakeholder and government relations, copywriting, collateral creation and issue management.

Our immediate task is to announce that Saga is locating in Hastings’ new town centre business district, creating up to 800 jobs. With its headquarters in Folkestone, Kent, Saga will open a new centre for its insurance business in Sea Space’s new, six-storey office facility and start local recruitment immediately.

This is a landmark event for the Hastings area. It marks the culmination of several years’ development and marketing work and will act as a springboard for Sea Space to undertake further development of the business district. It follows a recent study that found Hastings to be the best value business location in the south east.
